Artist Corps New Orleans knows that an excellent education must include access to excellent music instruction. We recruit the highest caliber musicians, engage them in service, and develop these artists as highly effective educators. Artist Corps New Orleans Fellows teach in public schools throughout the school year and receive a living stipend, health insurance, and rigorous, ongoing pedagogic training. In addition to teaching responsibilities, their service commitment includes time for professional development, reflection, and music-based community outreach with students and other service organizations. As of June 2012, Artist Corps New Orleans Fellows will have the opportunity to pursue teacher certification (K-12 Music) during their service commitment. |
