Program Overview (from the program website):

Camphill Soltane is a life-sharing community of 80 people, including young adults ages 18-25, and adults age 25 and up, with developmental disabilities.

Our 5-year Learning for Life program for young adults encompasses academic study, arts and music, pre-vocational exploration, and life skills training within the context of a Waldorf-inspired curriculum.

Our Soltane Works program serves the needs of our older community residents with disabilities, and encompasses a number of on-campus work areas, including a textile design studio, a combined store/cafe/bakery, a land and estate crew, and a community services crew. Soltane also has strong connections with the surrounding community through off-campus job placements and expanding social and economic partnerships.

For the '12-'13 program year, we are looking for people who are interested in helping to create a safe, healthy, beautiful, and supportive household environment. We are also looking for people who would like to have an emphasis on teaching, while participating in community life.

At Camphill Soltane, we work out of the framework of advocacy, recognizing that people with disabilities can speak for themselves and can make choices about their lives. Coworkers support people in achieving their goals through person-centered processes.

Camphill Soltane is located on 50 acres of beautiful Pennsylvania countryside, 1 hour west of Philadelphia, 2.5 hours from New York City, and close to restaurants, shopping, and numerous cultural attractions.
