Program Overview (from the program website):

Play On, Philly! (POP) is excited to announce an opportunity to apply for openings on our Teaching Artist (TA) roster for 2012 - 2013 season. POP is an innovative education and social initiative that provides opportunities for personal development to children through the study of music. Inspired by the social development and music education program of Venezuela, El Sistema, POP seeks to enrich the lives of Philadelphia youth by providing daily musical instruction in communities which have little access to music education.

We have a limited number of openings for talented TAs on our roster: general music, percussion, choir, strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwinds (clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon), and brass (horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba). If you have an interest in teaching young students, or know of musicians who are, we encourage all to apply. Additional information about the program and application procedure can be found in the attached document and on our website. Applications must be submitted online through our website by 11:59pm EST Sunday April 15, 2012: http://www.playonphilly.org/involve.html
