As a Cesar E. Chavez Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work either as a Resident Service Coordinator or an After-School & Summer Program Manager , at one of our Si Se Puede! Learning Centers. Resident Service CoordinatorFellows working as a Resident Service Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the center including the after-school and summer program, and ensure families residing on the property have access to critical resources, to improve their quality of life. The Resident Service Coordinator acts as a liason between the community and the Si Se Puede Learning Center. Therefore, they recruit local volunteers, organize community events, and arrange communication between the local elementary and middle school and the Learning Center. After-school & Summer Program ManagerFellows working as an After-school & Summer Program Manager will develop curriculum making certain the monthly themes are being carried out across all program focuses (math, literacy and technology). They will also ensure that all staff/volunteers are effectively implementing curriculum for students in grades kindergarten through sixth. In addition to successfully implementing programs the After-School & Summer Program Managers will take on an administrative function and develop a monthly program calendar and newsletter, develop character building activities and monthly nutritional snack menus, and manage the Center's computer lab. Both positions were developed to ensure that the Cesar Chavez Foundation is having the greatest and most beneficial impact and creating a safe, caring and learning environment for youth and teens. |
