Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Grant Manager will be instrumental to the growth and sustainability of Relay GSE. As Relay GSE grows from a local institution with a singular program to a national institution delivering a portfolio of programs, the Grant Manager will help grow and administer a scalable public funding function for the graduate school. The Grant Manager will be responsible for the entire public grant lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, and close-out activities. This is an exciting new position at a cutting edge graduate school, growing out of the need to have one individual laser-focused on scaling the organization’s capabilities for public grants.

Proactively seek, identify, pursue, and close federal and state funding opportunities that align with Relay GSE’s mission and programmatic priorities.
Lead the grant writing process for federal and state opportunities, including conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, write, edit, revise, submit, track, and manage grant proposals to successful closure.
Seek and integrate perspectives from program staff, research staff, and senior leaders in the authoring of grants; and similarly serve as an advisor and resource to the institution regarding public funding.
Strategize and collaborate with Relay GSE’s Manager of Development (responsible for private fundraising activities) and senior leadership to ensure alignment of the institution’s public and private funding activities.
Refine, strengthen, and improve Relay GSE’s systems and processes for administering and reporting on federal and state grants.
Ensure that Relay GSE complies with the terms of all of its public grants, including activities such as periodic reporting, federal audits, and data collection.
As appropriate, serve as the primary liaison and coordinator for Relay GSE’s grant partners and/or subgrantees.
Coordinate with program staff, research staff, finance teammates, grant partners, and subgrantees to ensure that Relay GSE implements its public grants with foresight and proactivity.

First and foremost, the Grant Manager must share the team’s sense of urgency about the need to improve student achievement through phenomenal teacher training. Additionally, candidates for the position must have the following:
A bachelor’s degree
