To provide administrative and operational support to the YouthMap program.


A. Develop and maintain familiarity with all aspects of the YouthMap program, including knowledge of donor and IYF procedures and policies.

B. Support YouthMap assessment work, including:

Coordination of assessment preparations, logistics, and team travel, including arrangement of flights, lodging, meetings, visas;
Preparation of local firm and consultant contracts; ensuring the timely receipt, approval and processing of contracts and the approval and processing of disbursements accordingly;
Organization of background research materials.

C. Maintain consultant and partnership outreach databases.

D. Provide administrative support, preparing correspondence and other communications.
E. Support the YouthMap team in drafting written materials for the YouthMap program, including program documentation, implementation plans, and reports as assigned.
F. Provide general support to program and perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Director.


Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a field relevant to IYF’s mission and programs (Social Science, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy), plus 1-3 years of work experience.
Work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa strongly preferred. Knowledge of or experience with programs that support youth employment, education/training, and/or social services preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required. Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese strongly preferred.
Ability to identify and establish priorities, work independently, and exercise sound judgment related to providing support and assistance.
Experience working with USAID-funded programs preferred.
Ability to identify problems in a timely manner, make recommendations toward solving problems, and work well in group problem solving situations.
Ability to work in a dynamic team, as well as an ability to carry out tasks independently. Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent time management and organizational skills are required. Thorough knowledge and experience in building office systems, filing systems, and general office procedures preferred.
Possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills which must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with a broad array of cultures and languages
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
